| HAEMMERLIN
KNOW-HOW AND TECHNOLOGY |
| | On
the 25 October 1867, Charles Haemmerlin established a metal foundry and workshop
in Saverne. The artisan quickly began to produce bakers ovens, kneading troughs,
charcoal extinguishers, springs, porches and wrought ironwork. In around 1890,
with the support of his Son, Georges, he built his first factory. |
|
During 1895, Georges Haemmerlin, commenced production of the first French metallic
wheelbarrow. Orders poured in, not only from Alsace or Lorraine, but also from
Paris, Brussels and Africa. BUSINESS REVOLUTIONISED BY 4 GENERATIONS
In 1930, Georges's two Sons began to work in the Company. Jean-Louis started to
sell Haemmerlin products such as: wheelbarrows, tip-carts and tar sprayers in
to new export markets, whilst Emile concentrated on modernisation of the production
facility. Following the end of the Second World War, the Company re-commenced
deliveries, throughout France and in to export markets. |
1952
saw the inauguration of a new Company. The following year, the first hoist was
produced to complete the successful range of products being sold in Europe, the
Middle East and Africa. Year after year, the Company continued to increase the
manufactured product range and even connected to the National rail network. The
workforce increased rapidly to over 200 employees. From the early 1970's, Jean-Louis
and Emile began to work as the new generation. In 1981, Bernard Haemmerlin,
Manager of the Company, started the complete modernisation of the manufacturing
equipment. Today, in excess of 1 million units are manufactured and distributed
throughout the World each year. |

manufacturing capabilities coupled with ongoing research and development make
Haemmerlin the international leaders within their market. When Georges Haemmerlin
began production of metallic wheelbarrows back in 1895, he was the first in France.
100 years later, the Company continues to innovate within the international wheelbarrow
and trolley market. Each aspect of every product is treated to modern requirements
of efficiency, robustness, safety and comfort. Features that you are guaranteed
to find on each and every product manufactered by Haemmerlin. |

Based
in the heart of Europe, Haemmerlin occupy a site covering some 12 h.a. with a
covered manufacturing plant and warehouse of 45,000 sq. metres. Research and development,
marketing and logistics utilise the latest in computer programmes. Digital technology
is incorporated throughout the production: bending and welding is carned-out by
robots and the painting line is fully automated... These investments ensure a
professional market approach and products guaranteed to perform well in to the
future. Each day, many tonnes of laminated steel is transformed on automated
production lines: sheet trimming, splitting, tube manufacture, forming, swaging,
welding and surface treatment operations are used during the manufacture of the
products. |

or ribbed, the wheelbarrow trays are swaged from different thicknesses of steel,
by automated 400 tonne presses. Fully
automated, the painting line de-greases and paints the parts (utilising epoxy
coating technology). Our quality policy guarantees our products give long service.
The packaging of the
finished product offers industrial and logistic benefits: products are protected
throughout the transportation or shipping, they can be handled easily and quickly,
they also feature all the information the customer may need to know about the
product. | | |
